UMANG app was launched in November 2017 by the government of India to provide various government services through a single app. It acted as a one-stop  APP for various governmental services. Umang or Unified Mobile Application for New Age Governance provides over more than 1200 state and Central government services.

It also comes with the facility of pay bills like electricity bills and other bills. This app can also be used to apply for Pan cards. One of the salient features of this app is that this app can help you to check your  Employees Provident Fund (EPF) passbook. It provides every detail and the deposits that had been made towards your EPF in the following period. How to check EPF balance through Umang app?

Note that you should have a phone number which should be registered with the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Normally your number gets registered with EPFO once you start paying for your EPF. This is done by the employer. If your number is not registered, you should contact them. You will need this number to receive an OTP. Since OTP will come on this number, so this number should be active.

Step 1 – Open UMANG app and select the EPFO option.

Step 2 – Then select ‘Employee Centric Services’ from the different options available there.

Step 3 – Go to the ‘View Passbook’ option. Then it will ask for your UAN number which is provided by EPFO to every employee who is contributing towards Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Enter that number.

Step 4 – You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP there.

Step 5 – After entering the OTP, you can view your passbook. There you will get details of PF accounts which were created with various employers between your employment period. You can check your details of deposits that were made towards your PF  account.
