Everything You Need To Know About Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

Effluent treatment plant plays an important role in water solutions services. Effluent treatment plant (ETP) is a treatment method used to treat emanation that comes out of different areas of the plant. Effluent treatment is done on the basis of the type of effluent. It has a lot of benefits as it provides solutions to BOD reduction, phosphorous, effluent odour controls, nitrogen removal, aeration and more. It purifies wastewater that flows in different types of industries where chemicals and dyes are used to treat the minerals. The main objective of the plant is to protect the environment from the negative effects of wastewater.

STP clarifier

The STP clarifier separates clean water from slurry. The sludge then settles down and clean water at the top is allowed to flow down to the cooling tower from where the content in the water should be less than 100ppm. Clarifiers have a racker arm that extracts sludge from the clarifier. In cases where the sludge height goes higher than the racker’s arm then it will lift and set.

Bar screening

The effluent sewage wastewater passes through a bar screen to get rid of large objects such as rags, cans, plastic packets, sticks etc., carried in the sewage stream. Bar screening is most commonly performed with an automated bar screen that is mechanically raked in modern treatment plants serving a lot of people while in small and less modern treatment plants, manually screen water solutions may be used.

STP water aeration tank

The aeration tank is at the heart of the treatment system. Most of the treatment is provided at the aeration tank, employing bacteria/microbes for the process. The main function of this tank is to maintain a high population of microbes. The mixture is referred to as the mixture of liquid suspended solids. And the mixed liquid is passed into the clarifier.

Sludge tank

In the sludge tank, the sludge is agitated to prevent sludge from settling. Each tank may have a capacity of around 22 cubic meters and can hold for around 8 hours. The main purpose of the sludge tank is to hold the sludge so that it can be transferred to the filter press. From the sludge tank, a filter press feed pump is used to pump the sludge to the filter press.

Industrial water filter press

From the sludge tank, sludge is then pumped to the filter press equipment so that it can be dewatered. The cake moisture shouldn’t be more than 20%. Different types of filters are used for this purpose. These filters are known as gravity belt filters, gravity setters, centrifuges, vacuum filter, pressure belt filter and filter press.

Sewage treatment plant

A sewage treatment plant plays an important role in water solutions services. A sewage treatment plant is well equipped with all the modern equipment requires to enhance its working life and increase the efficiency of the plant. Sewage treatment plant may treat water for different purposes such as manufacturing, drinking, farming and other purposes by institutions, residents, hospitals, industrial and commercial establishments and more.
